STRATEGIC PLAN
2025 – 2028
We need to grow. More people than ever before need our help to break out of the cycle of poverty.
POVERTY IS ON THE RISE:
are homeless in Toronto
Torontonians are food insecure
people in Ontario are on social assistance
more people are living in poverty in Canada in 2022 compared to 2020
Demand for our pre-employment services has increased 233% since 2021
Ve’ahavta is uniquely positioned to help people break the cycle of poverty and meet the increasing demand for help. Our distinctive approach to solving poverty through individualized pre-employment services, has a 96% success rate.
In our last Strategic Plan, our priority was to increase our impact by expanding program capacity. Since 2021, we:
Increased the number of people served by our pre-employment supports by 93% per year (from 142 to 301) while only increasing expenses by 26%
Increased our MJRH outreach van service visits to people facing homelessness by 200% (from 21,111 to 63,406 per year)
Engaged 115% more volunteers (from 833 to 1,790 per year)
It’s time to grow again.
Our 2025-28 Strategic Plan sets out an ambitious goal to double our growth and deliver our highly effective pre-employment services to 660 individuals (over 300 currently served), and to take the first step on our journey to national expansion – in Ottawa.
